Untitled (December 2009) consists of two compositions, each based upon the same 4 minute recording of a music box’s mechanism resonating against the metal roll-up door of our downtown Los Angeles loft. The sound of the wind, rain, fūrin, and traffic outside mix with the squeak of the turning ratchet and notes of Jingle Bells plucked from the metal comb and cylinder of the music box.
